I dunno if you can really quantify the hardness of the partying done by certain glam metal bands vs somebody like Ozzy. I think it's safe to say that they just partied really fuckin hard, and leave it at that. You are right about the spirit of metal though, what it was all about, and how that is what is missing from the rock of today. Metal forever baby.

I don't like the way they've changed the singing in this song. The original singing it should be.

Yeah, but Ozzy and Motorhead were partying as hard as any glam band, harder infact. I dont think he has a problem with darker music, just whiney music. Black Sabbath had depth and a sense of defiance, a lot of modern emo and so called metal doesnt, its just bitching without any of that old fuck you spirit, the old rock n roll attitude. Not to say all modern metal is like that (bands like I and Toxic Holocaust for example, rule) but a lot of it is.

I am a huge Twisted Sister fan, but the guy is wrong. Obviously glam metal is about drugs, partying, drinking and sex and having a fuckin great night out every night. But look at Black Sabbath (Dee's fave band) or Ozzy or Motörhead or any other not glam rock but darker old metal bands, and yes life does suck sometimes and yes you do get drunk and kicked out of home and relationships do brake up and you do feel sometimes suicidal...any way TS rocks really hard!

The 80's were about parting, screwing the girlfriend and outright having fun.
